AR & Credit Manager

As the Accounts Receivable & Credit Manager at STI Firestop, your role encompasses a diverse range of responsibilities that ensure the smooth flow of accounts receivable, credit, and collections operations. The role requires skill in dealing with customers, resolving credit issues, and monitoring orders. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience successfully managing both domestic and international billing, credit & collections, in a high paced office, with a strong knowledge of accounting systems, specifically those related to billing, deposits, and cash applications, as well as credit monitoring sources such as D&B.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead collections for domestic & international accounts, ensuring timely payments and systematic follow-up on delinquent or slow paying customers, maintaining a low DSO.
• Lead and mentor A/R Administrators, developing their skills and conducting yearly reviews.
• Collaborate effectively with Customer Service, Shipping/Logistics, and Sales Team for operational cohesion by reviewing and releasing orders on credit hold as applicable and resolving pricing and shipping disputes.
• Evaluate creditworthiness and assign appropriate credit lines to new customers while also performing systematic reviews to adjust existing customer credit limits as necessary.
• Process quarterly and annual rebates and incentive credits.
• Prepare & Process LC’s/CAD’s & Bank Drafts.
• Provides support as needed for Month End Close and Annual Audit.

Experience

• Minimum of 10 years of managing Accounts Receivable, Credit, and Collections functions & minimum of 5 years managing teams.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to review and analyze LCs, CADs, and other financial documents.

• Strong analytical skills for AR and Credit analysis.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage fast paced work environment

Desired Skillsets

• Proficient in ERP systems, such as Acumatica, Oracle, or SAP, Excel, and collection management software like Esker.

• This person should have international experience. 

• Experience in manufacturing and distribution industry a plus. 

• Adept at discerning customer payment tendencies and navigating the intricacies of accounts receivable, with the ability to assert boundaries with salespeople and clients while remaining flexible when necessary; striking a balance is essential.

• Experience with sales & use tax in US and Canada.
