Position Summary
Responsible for training, support, and optimization of clinical software applications, including builds, upgrades, and system enhancements. Analyzes clinical needs, evaluates software releases and/or new products, and gives recommendations to optimize processes and decrease expenses. Supports strategic initiatives of the organization as related to utilization of clinical applications in achieving process and/or quality metrics.
Responsibilities
- Supports the organization through administration of clinical applications and systems, including but not limited to: eClinicalWorks EMR, Sidexis dental imaging, Liberty pharmacy software, IRIS retinal imaging and others.
- Performs and documents workflow assessments to determine functional requirements for optimal utilization of applications.
- Develops system test plans and performs testing of software upgrades and patches.
- Works within a cross-functional team and with end-users to achieve application integration to meet business / clinical needs.
- Reviews software updates and works with clinical areas to implement new features and functionality.
- Serves as the administrator and Patient Safety Officer for eClinicalWorks and other clinical applications as necessary. In this capacity I will maintain training as an eClinicalWorks superuser and organization trainer.
- Creates user accounts, manages security permissions and passwords in clinical applications.
- Collaborates with organizational leaders and staff to develop improved workflows, training materials and application knowledge that supports the end user experience and overall efficiency of work.
- Provides EMR training to Providers during onboarding.
- Utilizes the IT Helpdesk system to manage service requests and issues.
- Works closely with IT staff and end users on the timely resolution of IT tickets.
- Monitors systems for security threats and provide remediation.
- Provides support for systems located at multiple sites as well as cloud hosted.
- Responds per organizational policies to all system outages.
- Responsible for monitoring vendor sites to check for software updates and for applying those updates per the IT downtime protocols.
- Participates in organizational committees and workgroups as needed.
- Helps to maintain IT asset records, develop clinical IT related policies and procedures and implements industry security best practices.
- Collaborate with the Data Analyst and other team members on quality improvement initiatives, focusing on enhancing workflows, providing staff training, and identifying system enhancements to support continuous quality improvement efforts.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Clinical experience or advanced experience supporting technology use in a clinical environment.
- Knowledge of system and application administration.
- Knowledge of clinical operations and the ability to apply technology to improve clinical processes.
- Strong proficiency in using the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Demonstrated strong technical and analytical skills and the ability to solve complex problems.
- Ability to collect and analyze data, create reports, and make recommendations.
- Ability to understand process and develop improvements in workflows.
- Ability to diagnose and solve problems.

Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or Healthcare related field or equivalent experience. Preference given to candidates with LPN or RN license and experience.
- 3 years of experience working as systems or applications administrator.
Preference given to candidates with healthcare-related IT experience.
Physical Requirements
- This is a sedentary role, most of the time the team member will be seated, however, there will be walking and traveling to perform required job duties.
- Must be able to lift, carry and handle equipment, supplies and other work site materials based on duty requirements.
Work Location
You may be required to travel to any of our sites as part of your responsibilities at any time.
