A position has been declared open in the Weber School District Curriculum Department for a Secondary Curriculum Facilitator. This position offers compensation according to the teacher's salary schedule for 182 days per year, with an additional 21 days. Additionally, it includes a 9% stipend plus $3,000.

The Weber School District Curriculum Facilitator is dedicated to improving student learning outcomes by providing support to individuals, collaborative teams, and principals in leveraging data and research. This support aids in setting goals, making informed instructional decisions, and monitoring student achievement. Key responsibilities of this role include analyzing student performance data, recommending instructional adjustments, and demonstrating best instructional practices. Additionally, the Curriculum Facilitator coordinates professional development sessions, designs curriculum resources, offers ongoing training and support, oversees instructional coaching programs, and collaborates with stakeholders to ensure curriculum effectiveness. Effective leadership, collaboration, and organizational skills are essential to achieve the objectives and goals of assigned programs within established timelines, all while demonstrating fiscal responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Analyze student performance data to identify trends, gaps, and areas for improvement.
- Collect and analyze data to inform curriculum adjustments and identify areas of success.
- Generate reports on Curriculum & Instruction data, professional development activities, and student performance.
- Support individuals, collaborative teams, and principals in using data and research to set goals, make instructional decisions, and monitor student achievement to enhance student learning.
Curriculum Development and Support
- Establish learning objectives and goals for assigned programs; monitor progress and effectiveness of programs; recommend and implement strategies to maximize effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain high-quality curriculum resources aligned with the Utah Core, including instructional minutes guides, pacing, and comprehensive instructional and assessment materials.
- Assist teachers with curriculum-related inquiries and provide guidance on best practices for instruction.
- Design and provide targeted, ongoing training and support to ensure the proper utilization of curriculum documents and the implementation of evidence-informed materials for core instruction, as well as evidence-based materials for intervention and supplemental instruction.
- Collaborate with educators and administrators to align curriculum content with state standards, ensuring consistency across the district.
Professional Development and Training
- Conduct and facilitate professional development sessions aimed at implementing effective instructional strategies that adhere to Utah's professional learning standards, align with the Utah Core Standards, and adhere to the designated instructional model.
- Model and/or provide models of best instructional practices, methods, materials, and technology that have proven to increase student achievement, through classroom demonstrations or side-by-side coaching.
- Coach and support staff in implementing frameworks, content standards, curriculum, instructional practices, intervention and differentiation strategies, as well as the coordination of initiatives and pilot programs.
- Consistently stay informed about current research findings and integrate relevant discoveries into staff development and professional learning initiatives.
- Maintain professional competency by participating in pertinent professional growth opportunities, thereby ensuring a thorough understanding of best practices and emerging trends in the field.
- Coach and support Curriculum Teacher Specialists in implementing frameworks, content standards, curriculum, instructional practices, as well as intervention and differentiation strategies. Additionally, provide support and coordination for the implementation of initiatives and pilot programs.
- Assist and provide support to Weber School District Instructional Coaches in mastering the fundamentals of instructional coaching, instructional design, assessment, and effective instructional delivery strategies.
- Oversee the Instructional Coach endorsement course offered by Weber School District.
- Design and/or provide professional development geared toward ensuring that educators have the training they need to meet the expectations outlined in the Weber School District PLC Collective Commitments.
- Generate reports on Curriculum & Instruction initiatives, professional development activities, and student performance.
- Work closely with other departments to effectively meet Teaching & Learning needs.
- Organize and oversee the offerings for the district's professional development day.
Stakeholder and External Relations
- Foster a positive, productive relationship with all stakeholders that allows for effective collaboration.
- Maintain effective communication with external vendors and program providers to ensure the availability and quality of instructional resources.
- Comprehend and adhere to oral and written instructions.
- Adhere to established schedules and meet timelines effectively.
- Demonstrate sound judgment in decision-making.
Program Management and Oversight
- Oversee and manage curriculum programs, including materials and training for district-approved resources.
- Ensure fiscal responsibility and alignment with organizational objectives in resource allocation.
- Represent Weber School District at the Utah State Board of Education as needed.
- Participate in district committees as appropriate.

Qualifications
- Valid Utah Secondary Education Teaching License with a minimum of ten years of teaching experience.
- Strong leadership skills to inspire and guide diverse stakeholders, facilitating collaboration and fostering a positive work environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with teachers, district teams, and committees.
- Flexibility and adaptability to navigate changes in educational policies, initiatives, and priorities, while adhering to instructions and making data-driven instructional decisions.
- In-depth understanding of curriculum development, instructional strategies, assessment practices, and educational principles, including familiarity with Utah Core Standards and state policies.
