  • Job Description

    UNDER DESIGNATED SUPERVISION AT A WAREHOUSE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (WMS)DISTRIBUTION CENTER, PERFORMS A VARIETY OF REPETITIVE WAREHOUSING DUTIES IN EITHER RECEIVING, STORAGE, ORDER SELECTION OR SHIPPING.

    SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS ARE GIVEN ON HOW TO PERFORM ASSIGNED TASKS. MAY USE A VDT / PC INQUIRY SCREEN IN PERFORMANCE OF WORK.

    1. RECEIVING : A. THE WORK WILL INCLUDE THE UNLOADING OF INCOMING CONVEYANCES, COMPARES FREIGHT RECEIVED TO THE TRANSPORTATION DOCUMENT / FREIGHT BILLS AND IDENTIFIES DAMAGE / SHORTAGES AND MAKES SURE COUNTS ARE CORRECT.

    B. SORTS ITEMS EITHER AT THE TRAILER OR INSIDE THE RECEIVING AREA ON PALLETS SO THAT NEW RECEIPTS CAN BE EASILY COUNTED.

    ITEMS PALLETIZED WILL BE ACCOMPLISHED IN ACCORDANCE WITH STACKING PATTERNS. C. MAY ASSIST IN THE RECEIPT PROCESS TO INCLUDE COUNTING OF ITEMS, RECORDING OF COUNTS ON RECEIVING WORKSHEETS, AFFIXING LABELS ON PALLET TO INCLUDE PUT AWAY TICKETS.

    2. STORAGE : A. THE WORK WILL INCLUDE THE CHECKING AND VERIFICATION OF ITEMS PRIOR TO LEAVING THE RECEIVING AREA THROUGH A CONTROL POINT TO INSURE MERCHANDISE MOVEMENT IS ACCURATE.

    B. WILL INCLUDE THE PHYSICAL HANDLING OF ITEMS ON PALLETS IN EITHER CONSOLIDATING OF PUTAWAY OR AT TIME OF REPLENISHMENT.

    3. ORDER SELECTION : THE WORK WILL INCLUDE STOCKPICKING, ITEM PUTAWAY AND REPLENISHMENT. ITEMS WILL BE PLACED ON CONVEYORS OR HANDLED MANUALLY ON PALLETS FOR MOVEMENTS CASE LABELS.

    4. SHIPPING : A. THE WORK WILL INCLUDE THE LOADING OF TRAILERS FROM EITHER PALLETS OR CONVEYORS. B. MAY MOVE MERCHANDISE FROM LOCATION TO LOCATION BY HAND, PALLET JACK, OR SIMILAR MANUAL EQUIPMENT, AND ON OCCASION, A FORKLIFT OR OTHER MATERIALS HANDLING EQUIPMENT (MHE).

    5. MAY USE THE VDT FOR OBTAINING INQUIRY INFORMATION OR PERFORMING AVERY SPECIFIC WORK TASK.6. PARTICIPATES IN THE TAKING OF PERIODIC AND SPECIAL INVENTORIES.

    7. COMPLIES WITH ESTABLISHED SAFETY, SECURITY, AND FIRE PREVENTION PROCEDURES AND DIRECTIVES.8. PERFORMS OTHER RELATED DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.

    ACTIVELY COMMUNICATES / PROMOTES THE BENEFITS OF THE MILITARY STAR CREDIT CARD TO CUSTOMERS IN ORDER TO DRIVE SALES GROWTH AND INCREASE CUSTOMER LOYALTY.

    COMPLETION OF HIGH SCHOOL OR THE EQUIVALENT. CREDITABLE JOB RELATED EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR THE EDUCATION REQUIREMENT ON A 9 MONTHS FOR 9 MONTHS BASIS.

    SIX MONTHS OF PROGRESSIVELY RESPONSIBLE GENERAL EXPERIENCE.

    If a sufficient number of qualified candidates do not apply, the minimum qualifications may be lowered without reposting.

    MONDAY-FRIDAY 0630-1530 OCCASIONAL OVERTIME POSSIBLE ALTERNATE SCHEDULE

    Work Challenges

    SWEEPS FLOORS, HALLWAYS, CORRIDORS, AND STAIRWAYS; MOPS, SCRUBS, WAXES, AND POLISHES FLOOR SURFACES USING HEAVY DUTY POWERED EQUIPMWENT.

    PERFORMS NECESSARY MAINTENANCE SUCH AS OILING AND CLEANING EQUIPMENT

    • OPERATES HEAVY INDUSTRIAL-TYPE VACUUM CLEANER ON RUGS, VENETIAN BLINDS, AND LIGHT FIXTURES USING LADDER OR SCAFFOLD.
    • MOVES HEAVY FURNITURE, BOXES, OR OTHER OBSTACLES IN ACCOMPLISH-MENT OF CLEANING DUTIES. MOVES TRASH, SCRAPS, AND OTHER MATERIAL TO CENTRAL PICK-UP POINT.
    • CLEANS, ADJUSTS AND OILS TOOLS AND POWERED EQUIPMENT AND CHANGES BRUSHES, ROLLERS, PADS AND BLADES
    • WASHES, CLEANS AND DISINFECTS, DEODORIZES, AND MAINTAINS RESTROOMS IN A CLEAN, ORDERLY, AND SANITARY CONDITION. REPLACES TOILET TISSUE TOWELS, SOAP, AND DEODORIZER AS REQUIRED.
    • DUSTS, WAXES, AND POLISHES OFFICE FURNITURE; CLEANS SHELVES AND EMPTIES ASH TRAYS AND WASTE BASKETS
    • MAINTAINS STOCK OF RESTROOM AND JANITORIAL SUPPLIES.
    • MAY DO LIGHT OUTDOOR WORK RELATED TO FACILITY CLEANLINESS SUCH AS PICKING UP LITTER AND SWEEPING STEPS AND SIDEWALKS.
    • SETS UP AND WORK FROM LADDERS. FREQUENTLY LIFTS AND MOVES OBJECTS WEIGHING 40 LBS AND OCCASIONALLY OVER 50 LBS.
    • USUALLY WORKS INDOORS IN AREAS WHICH NORMALL HAVE ADEQUATE LIGHT, HEAT, AND VENTILATION. EXPOSED TO DIRT AND DISAGREEABLE ODORS.

    EXPOSED TO VIBRATION FROM HEAVY EQUIPMENT AND TO SKIN IRRITATIONS FROM STRONG CLEANING SOLUTIONS. CARE REQUIRED.
