Position Overview: We are looking for someone who embodies customer service in their overall approach, from greeting people as they come into the front door to answering phones, offering cheerful retail service, connecting staff/volunteers with resources, problem solving, and general office needs such as bank deposits, mail logs, and tracking documents.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Perform daily retail tasks including opening shop duties, utilizing a point-of-sale system, handling payments, helping customers, stocking shelves/inventory control, general cleaning, closing shop tasks, reporting, and bank deposits.
· Receive, evaluate, and answer customer inquiries (in-person, phone, e-mail).
· Manage customer complaints, product returns and special requests via phone, paper, e-mail, and internet.
· Process orders and resolve issues.
· Assist with the mail log when necessary.
· Keep trackers (excel, Smartsheet) and files (SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive) updated.
Requirements:
· High School Education or equivalent work-life experience
· People-oriented, having the ability to work well with adult volunteers, community, and representatives of other organizations.
· Typical office hours are Monday through Friday, 10:00a-5:30 and Saturday 10:00a-3:00p. There is flexibility for this role to work varied hours when necessary to achieve positive objectives.
· Present a professional attitude and image within the office.
· Dedicated to the mission/aims/vision of Scouting and Longhorn Council.
· Ability to pass a criminal background check.
· Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Suite tools including Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel.
· Physical Activities: Reaching, standing, walking, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing.
· Physical Requirements: Sedentary work, computer keyboarding, occasional lifting of boxes, files, and equipment (up to 50lbs)..
