CVP subsidiary Titan-Auxo, LLC is seeking a highly qualified Chief Therapeutic Medical Physicist to join our team in providing essential radiation oncology physics services for the Tibor Rubin VA Medical Center in Long Beach, CA. This key leadership role is responsible for overseeing all physics and dosimetry operations within the Radiation Oncology service.

- Serve as the Chief Therapeutic Medical Physicist (CTMP) for the VA radiation oncology service, overseeing all physics and dosimetry operations
- Provide on-site services at least 5 days/week during clinical hours while patients are being treated
- Develop, implement, and periodically review all Quality Management Program (QMP) policies and procedures related to radiation therapy equipment
- Oversee technical activities of all physicists, dosimetrists, and other staff members assigned to the unit
- Direct technical aspects of treatment procedures and perform duties qualifying as a supervisor
- Provide quarterly Quality Assurance reports for the Quality Assurance Committee and Radiation Safety Committee
- Attend and participate in quarterly Radiation Safety meetings
- Track, evaluate, and document all equipment-related quality assurance data, including TLD and credentialing measurements for independent 3rd party analysis
- Provide shielding surveys and reports as required by the National VA Health Physics Program (NHPP)
- Ensure licenses are current for linear accelerator equipment and software applications
- Coordinate electronic submission of adverse events, near misses, and good catches reports into the Radiotherapy Incident Reporting and Analysis System (RIRAS)
- Implement new procedures and technologies, including literature review, site visits, standard operating procedure development, and staff training
- Perform acceptance testing and commissioning of new linear accelerators and treatment planning systems
- Provide network and computer administration support for radiotherapy planning, delivery, and treatment management systems
- PhD in Medical Physics or related field
- Board Certification in Medical Physics or Therapeutic Medical Physics by the American Board of Radiology (ABR)
- Minimum 5 years of documented post-board experience after certification
- At least 3 years of continuous work experience within the last 5 years in therapeutic medical physics
- Extensive experience with
- Varian Linear Accelerators (TrueBeam with Brain Lab Accessories)
- Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) including Cone Beam CT
- Eclipse treatment planning system and ARIA record & verify system
- Treatment modalities including 2D/3D Conformal, SRS, SRT, SBRT, and IMRT/VMAT
- IMRT QA systems (e.g., MapCheck)
- CT Simulators (e.g., GE Discovery)
- Superficial X-ray machines
- Experience in a healthcare system with ACR or APEx certification
- Demonstrated ability to perform acceptance testing and commissioning of linear accelerators
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to pass a government background check and complete required VA training
