About the Role
As Customs Compliance Coordinator, you will focus on ensuring compliance with all U.S. Customs and other government agency regulations including reviewing imported goods and applying proper Harmonized Tariff codes (HTS) and duty rates, entry auditing and reporting of key import data to leadership.
What You’ll Do
Work with all internal/external partners to ensure entries are complete and accurate and released by Customs without delays.
Partner with manager to identify eligibility and documentation requirements for Free Trade Agreements
Partner with manager to review entry documents for accurate valuation, including First Sale Valuation qualification
Review product information to ensure compliance with OGA/PGA classification, documentation, and reporting
Complete post-entry reviews and submit entry corrections (PSC/PEA's) with manager guidance
Ensure import records are maintained per U.S. Customs requirements
Works with Manager in responding to U.S. Customs requests for information (CF 28/29)
Determine proper HTS classification and duty rates for direct import goods.
Provide Product Development, Buying Offices and vendors/agents with HTS and duty rates for product costing
Provide reports and auditing on import activity (Parts Database, Liquidation, 210 rejection)
Additional task may be assigned as necessary
What Skills You Have
Required
Knowledge of merchandise classification guidelines per U.S. Customs regulations and the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS)
Understanding of the import process and Customs Broker responsibility
Proficiency with Windows software and internal mainframe systems
Bachelor's degree or related experience
Proven verbal and written communication skills
Analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and as part of the team
