The Data Solution Architect is accountable for the identification, evaluation and selection of technology-related solutions to business problems which are delivered via IT projects and other initiatives. They work across multiple domains to facilitate meetings with Business stakeholders, Project Managers, IT Leaders, other Architects, and Technical Leads to identify and propose solution options for consideration. The Data Solution Architect is accountable for the solution's technical integrity, fit-for-purpose, and conformance with Enterprise Architecture technical direction.

The Data Solution Architect is responsible to design and develop schema for BI solutions, system governance process and other data/BI asset management process. Own entire process of understanding the need from various business groups, design & development of solutions with technical team, own communication and deliverable quality and govern the overall relationship. Must have experience in design, development of data architecture, data flows, and Business Intelligence solutions leveraging latest data/technology frameworks.

This position's first assignment will be to serve as the Data Solution Architect on a large project. This project team focused entirely on growth in a core business area. The emphasis of this team will be to implement a new suite of insurance software, while laying the groundwork for future growth. During project execution they have oversight responsibilities to ensure deliverables align with the architectural design and expected results are achieved. The Data Solution Architect will be responsible for overhauling the data solutions to help this implementation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and maintain enterprise-wide insurance suite architecture reference architecture, successful patterns, and establish an Insurance Suite Center of Excellence (CoE) to promote knowledge sharing and standardization.
• Should have in depth knowledge on different ETL & BI tools like Azure Cloud, ADF, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Hub Events, Snowflake, and Databricks.
• Experience working with common data models and implementing scalable solutions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with technology teams and business partners to facilitate improved alignment of technology initiatives to business strategies.
• Lead the design and planning of complex technical solutions. Ensure that solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with industry best practices.
• Collaborate with senior resources and lead technical teams effectively. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Awareness of emerging data technologies with an understanding of how to adopt and apply new patterns.
• Delivers Project/Initiative documents including but not limited to: Options and Impacts analysis; Project Solution Architecture Documents; etc
• Seeks opportunities to leverage and promote enterprise business and technical capabilities within solution options.
• Engages in strategic thinking and takes actions based on anticipating both obstacles and opportunities while maintaining a long-term, big picture view of the company's business and technology needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

ESSENTIAL:

• Bachelors Degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science or in a related field
• 5 years Azure Data platforms (Data Factory, SQL Server, Synapse, Data Lake) experience.
• 10 years of data/BI solution development and/or architecting enterprise data/BI solutions
• Strong understanding of modern data technology stack and methodologies, data streaming and data lake solutions.
• Strong verbal and writing skills including the ability to translate technical data into user-friendly terminology and graphics. Adept at developing and presenting complex material effectively to a wide variety of technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to positively influence and motivate others in the adoption and implementation of processes and technology solutions.
• Demonstrated ability in effectively engaging, communicating, and presenting to stakeholders across both business and technology functions
• Strong collaborator, results oriented, self-motivated, resourceful team player.

PREFERRED:

• Property & Casualty insurance industry process knowledge is a plus.
• Previous experience implementing an enterprise insurance suite (Duck Creek core product suite)
• Azure certifications
• Familiarity with The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) or other architecture frameworks.
