Data Scientist identifies trends, patterns, and anomalies found in big data sets by performing extensive data analysis to develop insights. Performs data mining, cleaning, and aggregation processes to prepare data, implement data models, conduct analysis, and develop databases. Being a Data Scientist interprets results from multiple structured and unstructured data sources using programming, statistical, and analytical techniques and tools. Collaborates with teams to understand each data analysis projects' underlying purpose, focus, and objectives. Additionally, Data Scientist designs, develops, and implements the most valuable data-driven solutions for the organization. May require a master's degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Data Scientist work is closely managed. Across private and public sectors from fraud detection to cancer research, to national intelligence, we need a data scientist like you to help find the answers in the data.

    On our team, you’ll use your data and analysis skills to improve Veteran access to healthcare. You’ll work closely with your customer to understand their questions and needs, then dig into their data-rich environment to find the pieces of their information puzzle. You’ll extract, ingest, explore, architect, and manipulate data, create informative, intuitive dashboards, and build out pipelines and predictive analyses to turn that set of disparate data points into objective answers to help decision makers make informed decisions. You’ll provide your customer with a deep understanding of their data, what it all means, and how they can use it.

    You Have:

    • 4 years of experience with data exploration, data cleaning, data analysis, data visualization, or data mining
    • 4 years of experience with business intelligence platforms such as Palantir, Tableau, PowerBI, Qlikview, or Spotfire
    • 4 years of experience with SQL or statistical and general-purpose programming languages for data analysis such as Python, R, or SAS
    • 4 years of experience analyzing structured and unstructured data sources
    • Ability to communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and via visualizations and infographics
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
    • Bachelor's degree

    Nice If You Have:

    • Experience analyzing and validating healthcare data
    • Experience with federal stakeholder engagement
    • Experience with statistics, geospatial analysis, natural language processing, or machine learning techniques

    Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $110,000.00 to $250,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
