    AWS’ Infrastructure Physical Security Team is looking for a Data Center Security Specialist with experience working in critical infrastructure installations, ideally data centers.

    As a Data Center Security Specialist you will be tasked with driving operational security excellence in a control room setting. You will provide support to on-site security and other customers by completing virtual security tasks via a chat/phone system. Your vigilance will drive a culture of quality, support, and proactive identification of physical security vulnerabilities for remediation. You will interface directly with customers from across the United States, Canada, Brazil, and Mexico. You will extract metrics and observe improvements by looking at available data. You will write and implement security procedures and directives, reports, develop presentations, and advise leadership on the status of physical security operations. The ideal candidate will be open to working non-traditional hours to support a 24x7 security operation.

    Key job responsibilities
    • Support daily operations of Data Centers/ Colo environments by completing virtual security task involving security systems and access control
    • Drive security awareness campaigns aimed at enhancing security vigilance and effectiveness
    • Experience with workflow ticketing and extraction development of performance metrics
    • Lead security investigations across campus facilities
    • As this is a GovCloud region, the selected candidate requires US Citizenship or equivalent status
    • May be tasked with working different work shifts consisting of Day, Mid or Evening/Overnight shifts.

    • Associates degree or higher and/or equivalent professional experience in corporate or government security environment
    • 2 years of experience with excellent verbal and written communications skills in a professional work setting
    • 2 years of experience writing detailed reports
    • 1 year of experience with Asana
    • 2 years of working in a security related field with electronic security systems
    • 2 years of root-cause analysis experience
    • Familiarity with security program automation and implementation
    • Ability to interpret program objectives, develop project schedules and manage adherence to established timetables
    • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals regarding physical security standards and policies
