Data Security Supervisor supervises professionals in the development, implementation, and maintenance of standards and systems that will ensure secure information systems and data. Implements standards and audit procedures to identify and resolve security violations. Being a Data Security Supervisor conducts disaster recovery and cyberattack preparation and training. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Additionally, Data Security Supervisor typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Data Security Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Security Supervisor
Duties:
- Oversee and manage a team of security officers to ensure the safety and security of the premises
- Implement and enforce security policies and procedures
- Conduct investigations into security breaches or incidents
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary
- Provide training and guidance to security staff on best practices and protocols
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to security activities
Must be available to cover shifts as needed
Skills:
- Proficient in operating CCTV systems and other security equipment
- Possess current CPR and First Aid certifications
- Knowledge of loss prevention techniques and strategies
- Experience in surveillance and monitoring activities
- Familiarity with law enforcement procedures and regulations
- Strong conflict management skills to handle difficult situations effectively
- Ability to lead and supervise a team of security officers
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in security management is a plus
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within the security industry
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
