  • Job Summary:The Norwalk Conservatory of the Arts is seeking a motivated and experienced Grant Writer to join our team on a part-time basis. The Grant Writer will play a crucial role in securing funding from local and federal grants to support our academic programs, performing arts initiatives, and general operating costs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the growth and sustainability of our organization through community outreach and timely donor applications. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of grant writing experience, an interest in performing arts education, and a Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, English, or related.

    Responsibilities:

    • Research, identify, and prioritize grant opportunities that align with The Conservatory's mission, evolving needs, and strategic objectives.
    • Develop and submit compelling grant proposals, applications, and reports to local and federal agencies, foundations, and other funding sources.
    • Collaborate with internal leadership and staff to gather necessary information and data for grant submissions.
    • Manage grant calendars, deadlines, and reporting requirements to ensure timely submission and compliance.
    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with grantors, donors, and funding partners to support ongoing fundraising efforts.
    • Stay informed about trends, best practices, and changes in grant funding opportunities and requirements.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., English, Communications, Nonprofit Management) preferred.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in grant writing, preferably for an educational or performing arts nonprofit organization.
    • Proven track record of successfully securing grants and donor funds from local and federal sources.
    • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
    • Strong research skills and familiarity with grant databases and online resources.
    • Passion for the arts and a commitment to performing arts education accessibility for diverse populations.

The Conservatory is comprised of a faculty of the greatest artists currently working in theatre and television.
