    The Computer Systems Analysist III-Database Manager develops, applies, and manages highly advanced principles, concepts, and techniques in the field of database technology and management using integrated management systems and processes.

    Responsibilities:

    Execute knowledge of technical principles, theories, standards, practices, and procedures in data analytics.

    Provide support for Power Apps, Business Dynamics and PowerBI.

    Participate in complex projects that may involve other IT sections, other departments, and consultants.

    Codify business logic using SQL and produce visually appealing business intelligence for end users to consume.

    Utilize advanced analytics, data science and SQL datasets to give our business the ability to take advantage of information stored in various systems.

    Identify requirements from the business stakeholders to improve visibility into their performance and areas of improvement. This includes understanding and managing the data, how it interconnects and architecting data for self-serve BI and BA opportunities.

    Capture and understand reporting and data service requests from internal business customers. They will also help define and clarify requirements, propose, define, and develop appropriate solutions, and provide feedback to the analytics team.

    Perform quality review of developed solutions and ensure proper user acceptance.

    Identify and prioritize business use cases.

    Assist with monitoring data quality and working with stakeholders to fix data issues.

    May prepare reports on progress and schedule of projects.

    May provide technical assistance to User Support Training as required.

    Provide direction to less experienced staff.

    Lead complex projects that may involve other IT sections, other departments, and consultants.

    End-to-end data architectural accountability for defining and refining enterprise architecture for data warehousing and business intelligence solutions.

    Deliver well-defined data design documentation and data models that guide and inform project software, development teams.

    Integrates the organization's technical data, using database management systems to organize and store data.

    Coordinate the development of integrated geographical information system (GIS) databases for spatial and non-spatial data to include workflow.

    Collects, enters, assembles, and verifies all information for inclusion into integrated database reports and planning documents.

    Manages and controls incoming technical data and screens for potential issues and entry issues.

    Validates/verifies data that cannot be updated through entry application.

    Determines user requirements, sets up computer databases, and tests and coordinates changes. Activities involve interaction with development and end-user personnel to determine application data access requirements, transaction rates, volume analysis, and other pertinent data required to develop and maintain integrated databases.

    Re-engineers current legacy applications and processes for effectiveness and efficiency and supports discrepancy resolution and data verification processes.

    Develops and leads projects, including defining scope, objectives, and methods.

    Demonstrated ability to competently use industry standard software and methods on a day-to-day basis and to readily learn new software and methods as needed.

    Trains and mentor’s more junior staff.

    Working Conditions:
    When working at the Nevada Support Facility at DOE, NLV and when working at the Molasky Building, the work is primarily office and office support.

    Complex minimal physical activities are required for the position.

    Lifting ~25 lbs.

    Prolonged sitting; 2-3 hours at a time

    Bending, kneeling – under desks

    Walking; face-to-face interface with personnel

    This position is required to maintain field readiness to support field investigation and remediation activities.

    Requirements

    Requires a bachelor’s degree in information technology, Information Systems or equivalent and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

    Education or experience that is job related may be substituted on a case-by-case basis.

    Adept with development and administration of databases including MS Access, and SQL Server
