Kittelson is looking for an experienced and dynamic technologist with a specialization in database analysis, particularly in PowerBi, Cobblestone, and Deltek/Vision.

POSITION SUMMARY

In this role, you will work directly with Kittelson’s Technology and Research Services team, including the Chief Technology Officer and IT Manager, as the Subject Matter Expert on firmwide databases. Opportunities for both internal and external projects are available in this emerging sector. We are looking for an individual who brings hands-on experience in these databases, is collaborative and responsive, and is excited to help build and execute an IT vision for the firm. Location will be in one of Kittelson’s established offices.

Primary Responsibilities

• Utilize expertise in PowerBI, CobbleStone, and Deltek/Vision to analyze and interpret complex datasets.
• Develop and maintain robust databases to support business operations.
• Create compelling visualizations and dashboards using PowerBI, presenting insights in a clear and impactful manner.
• Transform raw data into actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate firmwide to integrate and optimize database technologies within the organization.
• Collaborate as needed with outside agencies on client facing project work.
• Stay updated on industry trends to recommend and implement the latest database technologies.

Other Responsibilities May Include:

• Apply a creative mindset to address complex business challenges through innovative database solutions.
• Propose and implement improvements to enhance data management and reporting processes.
• Provide insights that contribute to the development and execution of business strategies.
• Lead collaborative efforts to ensure seamless integration between databases and other business systems.
• Mentor and guide team members on best practices in database analysis and visualization.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Database Analyst, ideally with PowerBI, CobbleStone, and Deltek/Vision.
• Strong visualization skills with the ability to convey complex data in an understandable format.
• Creative mindset, bringing innovative solutions to database challenges.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.

Preferred Skills

• Advanced degree or certifications in Database Management or related fields.
• Familiarity with additional database technologies beyond PowerBI, CobbleStone, and Deltek/Vision.
• Track record of successful database optimization and performance enhancements.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing deadlines, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and solid time management skills
• Collaborative attitude and ability to work well as part of a team

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position offers a competitive salary and benefits that include comprehensive employer-paid health insurance, a generous and flexible PTO program (in addition to parental leave), an outstanding retirement program, and a culture that seeks and values diversity and inclusion.
Depending on experience, total compensation for this position ranges from $70K – $90K consisting of base pay and retirement. This position is also eligible for a year-end performance bonus.
