    Title: Pre-Kindergarten Teacher

    Reports to: Division Head

    Start Date: August 2024

    All Saints Day School seeks an energetic and proactive team player of great initiative to serve as a Pre-Kindergarten Teaching Assistant. The Teaching Assistant will be responsible for supervising students, assisting lead teachers with lesson planning, preparing lesson materials, and maintaining general classroom tidiness.

    This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt, benefits-eligible position.

    The anticipated hourly pay range the school reasonably expects to pay candidates for this position is $20 to $25 per hour, depending on factors such as experience, education, or additional duties which may be assigned.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Support teachers by working with and supervising students in various settings, including classrooms, the playground, on field trips, and in the school’s After Care program
    • Work with students individually or in small groups
    • Help prepare materials for lessons, bulletin boards, parent conferences, and other activities
    • Assist lead teacher(s) in administering and documenting grade level assessments upon request
    • Participate in parent-teacher conferences as requested by the lead(s) teacher(s)
    • Help prepare classrooms during faculty work week prior to the opening of school
    • Assist in completing all of the year-end responsibilities before leaving for summer vacation
    • Work to ensure compliance with California state childcare licensing requirements.
    • Serve on the school’s after care team daily until 5:00 (until 4:30 on Fridays)
    • Provide daily supervision and coverage in the school’s after care program
    • Work with the after care team to enforce the policies and procedures of the after care program

    General responsibilities:

    • Model on a daily basis the conduct we expect of our students, and consistently exhibit the highest standards of professionalism.
    • Work collaboratively with colleagues to further the development of the school’s program. Attend staff meetings, professional development, and training sessions as needed or upon request.
    • Defend the dignity and worth of each member of the community and create an environment that fosters respect, understanding, and acceptance of differences; always model appropriate and ethical behavior
    • Be available to assist with coverage (after school program, recess, lunch, study hall, performance rehearsals, and event duties) as needed
    • Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the school and/or in self-selected professional growth activities
    • Demonstrate intellectual curiosity, strong communication skills, openness to others’ ideas, and an eagerness to extend oneself for others
    • Communicate, implement, and enforce All Saints Day School operational policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the students
    • Be a positive and contributing member of the professional community
    • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or Head of School

    Requirements:

    • High School Diploma (Associates’ degree preferred)
    • Completion of the required 12 units ECE/CD to work in a California state licensed classroom (including core courses); transcripts demonstrating the required units must be provided through the application process
    • Two or more years of early childhood experience is preferred
    • Valid California Child Development Assistant Permit preferred
    • Understanding of California state child care licensing requirements and a willingness to ensure compliance
    • Must be able to provide (or obtain) a valid CPR/First Aid Certificate
    • Must pass Live Scan fingerprinting and background check
    • Creativity, flexibility, and a growth mindset, with an interest in being part of a community of learners
