Dean of Arts and Sciences manages administrative functions of the college of arts and sciences. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Arts and Sciences leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Arts and Sciences requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Arts and Sciences manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Arts and Sciences typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. We are looking to hire a qualified professional with experience teaching students ages 3-6 years old. Our ideal candidate will have a degree in education or be working towards a degree in education, training in Montessori method, and the creativity to guide students in theme-based projects and artwork.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement theme-based art lesson plans for each of the 9 weeks of camp.
- Create a daily schedule for campers based on lesson plans, projects and playground time.
- Lead and supervise a classroom of 15 students, with the help of an assistant(s) that is safe and fun.
- Teach children art history and techniques in drawing, painting and sculpting.
- Develop a safe, fun, exploratory daily classroom routine and schedule.
- Interact with parents in Friday Art Exhibits.
Desired Qualifications:
- 1-2 years teaching experience, especially working in elementary education or daycare settings
- Strong classroom management skills
- Outgoing, enthusiastic and friendly personality.
- Understands and can maintain health and safety practices.
- Should be adaptable and prepared for anything.
- Must live within a 35 minute commute to Loveladies, NJ
- Must be available Mon-Fri 8:45am -12:15pm from June 24 to August 23.
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
