Dean of Arts and Sciences manages administrative functions of the college of arts and sciences. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Arts and Sciences leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Arts and Sciences requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Arts and Sciences manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Arts and Sciences typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     • Seeking a full-time A/I specialist to join a dedicated team known for its collegiality, commitment to diversity, and excellence in patient care, research, and education.
    • Candidate must be board certified/board eligible by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and must have completed either pediatrics, internal medicine, or combined internal medicine/pediatrics residency training. 
    • Ideal candidate will have interest in treating pediatric and adult patients with allergic diagnoses including allergic rhinitis, asthma, food allergies, allergic skin disorders, and eosinophilic GI disorders and immunodeficiency disorders.
    • Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
    • The program is the only tertiary care center for complex allergic and immunologic disorders for children and adults in the region and has an internationally recognized food allergy research program, state-of-the-art asthma research program, as well as an A/I fellowship training program.
    • Faculty appointment through UAMS College of Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.

    PRACTICE IS BASED AT ARKANSAS CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL AND UAMS: 
    • UAMS is the state’s only academic medical health system and level one trauma center.  The UAMS system includes a 535-bed hospital and serves as a regional tertiary care center for Arkansas and the surrounding region.
    • More than 900 College of Medicine clinicians staff UAMS Medical Center, Arkansas Children’s Hospital and the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System.
    • Arkansas Children’s is the only pediatric health system in Arkansas, serving a population of >3 million. ACH is the major pediatric referral center for Arkansas and the surrounding region serving children from birth to age 21.
    • The ACH team consists of more than 500 faculty, 200 residents (95 pediatrics), and 4,400 support staff.
    • As one of the largest children’s hospitals in the country, the ACH campus spans 36 city blocks and includes a 336-bed hospital, 3 intensive care units, a research institute, and a USDA-ARS nutrition center.
