Job Details

• Full time, eight hours per day
• Position available immediately
• Training is provided for this position.
• CDL is preferred.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for installation and service of fiber lines within Ligtel service territory. Performs installation and repair of company products and services in both business and residential environments.

Essential Job Functions

• Provides excellent customer service in dealing directly with customers and the public.
• Provides construction duties for the installation and repair of Company fiber optic lines.
• Conducts locates of buried fiber optic and copper cables.
• Interprets network drawings and maps.
• Demonstrates excellent communication, customer service skills, technical and problem-solving skills and the ability to effectively operate tools and construction equipment to perform job duties.
• Performs routine maintenance and repairs on tools and construction equipment per service and safety guidelines.
• Maintains company truck per service requirements and safety guidelines.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to work independently in the absence of supervision and in a team environment.
• Must demonstrate a positive attitude.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Must be detail oriented.
• The physical demands of this position require standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, walking and the ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Maintains working knowledge of Company’s products and services.
• Knowledgeable of all Company policies and procedures, including safety policies and adheres to all policies and procedures.
• Skills in identifying problems and resolving them.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Available to work 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day and be on-call as assigned.
• Ability to work outside year-round for construction builds.
• Maintains company truck and other equipment per service requirements and safety guidelines.
• Drives company truck between office and work sites in a safe and courteous manner, and in accordance with all laws and company policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of internet technology.
• Computer skills required including Excel, Outlook and Word.
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.

Preferred:

• 2 years of telecommunications industry experience, which demonstrates a proficient knowledge of fiber outside plant construction and maintenance practices.
• Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
