Additionally, Dean of Engineering requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Engineering manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Engineering typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.   • The Assistant Dean for Graduate and Professional Studies at Colby-Sawyer College provides structural leadership and functions as a strategic advocate for the faculty and students in the college’s graduate and professional (GPS) programs. These include graduate degree programs (DNP, MSN, MSES, MSW, MBA) as well as undergraduate degrees for professional learners (ABSN, RTT to BS, RN to BS and HSBS). The Assistant Dean will develop and monitor the infrastructure for GPS programs and serve as a liaison between Colby-Sawyer GPS programs, the GPS student population, and other departments on campus, such as Enrollment & Marketing. The Assistant Dean collaborates with the Dean of the School of Nursing & Health Sciences and the Dean of the School of Business & Social Sciences, leads GPS program coordinators and reports to the Academic Vice President and Dean of Faculty.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Provide structural and strategic leadership for GPS programs, program coordinators and directors, faculty, staff, and students.
    • Align GPS’ goals, planning, policies, and practices between and among programs and with the College’s strategic initiatives.
    • Coordinate GPS policy development and implementation and ensure GPS programs comply with regulatory matters related to applicable accreditation guidelines.
    • Work with GPS coordinators to strategize, implement plans for, and monitor GPS program growth, enrollment, and retention.
    • Collaborate with Enrollment & Marketing and GPS program coordinators to realize the GPS enrollment plan and vision.
    • Work closely with GPS admissions representative on GPS recruitment and outreach, including occasional travel to offsite recruitment events.
    • Evaluate and provide data-driven feedback about challenges and needs for all GPS learners as it relates to program growth and development.
    • Create and monitor retention plans for GPS student programs.
    • Serve as main contact for all GPS-related matters with college departments including registrar, admissions, financial aid, financial services, marketing, academic committees, and related student support services.
    • Collaborate with Deans to assist with policy and operational issues related to the success of GPS programs and their students.
    • Collaborate with Dartmouth-Health Workforce Readiness Institute (WRI) program on student enrollment and coursework at Colby-Sawyer; support enrollment and advising efforts to the WRI group; and work with the group through associate degree attainment.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Academic Vice President and Dean of Faculty.
