Dean of Engineering manages administrative functions of the college of engineering. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Engineering leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Engineering requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Engineering manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Engineering typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     This individual will support our Aegis Ship Integration and Test (SI&T) program - specifically conducting the government provided shipboard test procedures and documenting test completion and test discrepancies.

    Must be physically able to work aboard a US Navy ship, lift up to 50lbs, work in a loud environment and support short underway periods. Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to domestic locations such as; Pearl Harbor HI, Norfolk VA, Everett WA, Mayport FL, Bath ME, Pascagoula MS.

    Duties:

    • Ensure all resource requirements are in place to properly execute each test event
    • Assist in the coordination of sea trial testing, including training participants on respective test procedures and reviewing status of test results
    • Conduct shipboard testing according to government furnished test procedures
    • Inform the ATO/ATM of test related issues and requirements
    • Support other Test Directors/Lead in coordinating to ensure successful completion of all combat system test events
    • Ensure that all test, training, and operational event reports are collected from their respective team leaders and test results are promptly recorded.

    Qualifications:

    • Associate degree with 1 years of experience, or 5 years of experience without a degree
    • Experience with large scale Ship Integration and Test Practices
    • Navy E5 or higher
    • Must be a US Citizen
    • Must have the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
