Dean of Mathematics manages administrative functions of the college of mathematics. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Mathematics leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Mathematics requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Mathematics manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Mathematics typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     Design Supervisor

    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    Responsible for: 

    1. Performs review and analysis of electrical, telecom, security, and fire alarm design drawings to determine implementation requirements and constraints. 

    2. Employs expertise in installation methods and relies on in-depth knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), EIA/TIA and BICSI standards, other applicable standards and best practices to develop infrastructure layout concepts. 

    3. Performs detailed design of the more complex components of the infrastructure.

    4. Defines work packages, establishes, monitors, and manages physical design development plan aligned with the construction schedule, supervises the work of the design team developing detailed infrastructure design.  

    5. Leads design coordination with the field project team and other trades participating in the project. 

    6. Relies on expert knowledge of the design software, such as Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, NavisWorks, and BlueBeam to implement the most effective and efficient design development practices, develops necessary content. 

    7. Ensures implementation of the design quality processes and procedures, resolves issues, and manages release of design drawings.

    Must have the following:

    1. Extensive knowledge of the NEC and common electrical systems layout and installation methods;

    2. Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD;

    3. Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Navisworks, including multi-trade coordination and clash resolution; 

    4. Advanced proficiency with BlueBeam Revu;

    5. Proficiency with MS Excel.

    Qualifications:

    1. Bachelor's degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Electrical Design, Drafting or a related field and 3 years of BIM (building information modeling) design/detailing related experience required.

    2. Will accept 4 years of hands-on electrical trade related experience, passed an electrical journeyman or master electrician test from any state, and 3 years of BIM design/detailing related experience in lieu of the above stated requirements.

    Abilities:

    1. Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time.
    2. Sitting for extended periods of time.
    3. Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction.
    4. Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard.
    5. Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
    6. Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
    7. Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
    8. Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
    9. Identify and understand the speech of another person.
