Decision Support Project Specialist provides technical guidance and solutions to user groups working with decision support software and data tools. Analyzes user requirements and evaluates functionality and configuration options available for existing and new software. Being a Decision Support Project Specialist delivers user training and coaching to facilitate problem solving and decision making using hardware, software, datamarts, and data warehouses. Plans, coordinates and monitors projects to prepare, test, and deploy decision support tools, reports, dashboards and models to users. Additionally, Decision Support Project Specialist troubleshoots and resolves problems. May have specialized knowledge of a particular software product tool or module that is utilized. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Decision Support Project Specialist is a specialist on complex technical and business matters.     The Material Project Specialist’s role is to drive implementation of new and revised raw materials and semi-finished goods. Must be able to effectively plan/track, collaborate, and manage the actions of different functions according to business deadlines. Additionally, this role will communicate pertinent material and process information to local and Business project teams and coordinate packaging / material procurement and inventory run out with Planner/Buyers as appropriate.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to:

    • Develops an extensive knowledge of Plant needs, material functional expectations, and material specifications.

    • Supports the Plant and Business by coordinating assigned materials projects.

    • Participates with cross functional departments to obtain their input and / or support to ensure projects are successfully implemented within time frame and budget.

    • Coordinates projects per change local and business level change control systems as appropriate. 

    • Creates or reviews material specifications for content, accuracy, and completeness.

    • Coordinates execution of project team member deliverables, such as factory work orders, material and product testing, process validations, and enhancements to existing or new materials to ensure alignment with Plant and Business needs.

    • Communicates project activities and status information among division and plant personnel and vendors where appropriate.

    • Coordinate activities with planning and production groups to minimize changeovers and inventory write-off.

    • Ensures all procedures, specifications and SAP master data are accurate and complete, assuring vendor buy spec conformance when appropriate.

    • Performs as back up to Manager, Material Projects and Master Data.

    • Performs as a backup for SAP CUP requests.

    OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Other responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

    • Complies with, and responsible for enforcing, all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies/procedures.

    • Complies with all local BD quality policies/procedures/practices through consistent application of sound Quality Assurance principles.  Ensures compliance through appropriate communication, training, and education of sound Quality Assurance principles. Responsible for the activities and programs as defined for this position in the Quality Systems Manual - BD Broken Bow.

    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

    • Observes all safety, environmental and quality system standards.

    • All requirements are subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred or 5 years of Project Management experience with HS Diploma/GED

    • Experience in manufacturing, as well as a general knowledge of plant operations (Production, Quality Assurance, and Purchasing) is preferred.

    • Proven track record in implementing change preferred.

    • A working knowledge of change control processes, process validation, SAP ECR/Os, and SAP master data is preferred.
