Analyzes user requirements and evaluates functionality and configuration options available for existing and new software. Being a Decision Support Project Specialist delivers user training and coaching to facilitate problem solving and decision making using hardware, software, datamarts, and data warehouses. Plans, coordinates and monitors projects to prepare, test, and deploy decision support tools, reports, dashboards and models to users. Additionally, Decision Support Project Specialist troubleshoots and resolves problems. May have specialized knowledge of a particular software product tool or module that is utilized. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Decision Support Project Specialist is a specialist on complex technical and business matters. About the Opportunity
Smart Meter Field Area Network Specialists perform technical analysis in support of smart meter technology used by FirstEnergy. Primary duties include field investigations of communication network issues and identifying mitigation strategies. Additional duties will include Field Technical Support of various electrical equipment across FE Territory including but are not limited to Infrared Thermal imaging of equipment in substations and on critical circuits.
This is an entry level position with multiple career paths that could lead into Engineering and Leadership positions for employees that demonstrate high performance and strong work ethic.
This position is based in Western, PA and requires travel within the FE service territory which at times requires overnight trips and longer distance travel to Ohio, Eastern Pennsylvania, as well as New Jersey, West Virgina and Maryland. This is a field specialist position, employees will be primarily outdoors on customer premises, electric line rights-of-ways and in or around electrical substations.
