Position / Title:

Design Construction Manager location onsite Tinley Park, Illinois

Summary Description:

Responsible for the design team management and delivery of design documents for various project types as required by the project and the Client.

Reports To:

VP Engineering, Operations Manager, or Project Executive

Direct Reports:

Project specific Project Engineers, Superintendents, and administrative support

Major Areas of Responsibility:

• ·       Familiarity with variety of projects including industrial , waste handling, recycling, resource recovery, environmental remediation, and food and beverage facilities – from concept through construction.
• ·       Develop conceptual designs for new industrial facilities.
• ·       Effectively manage multi-discipline design
• ·       Ability to lead owner communication and client management.
• ·       Coordinate and lead a design team with sub-consultants of various disciplines
• ·       Respond to contractor RFI’s and submittals
• ·       Develop and manage project schedules
• ·       Assist in developing project cost estimates and proposals
• ·       Maintain project documentation
• ·       Lead project design meetings
• ·       Travel to client or project sites – 25%

Required Experience and Competencies:

• 10-15 years engineering experience with engineering design and engineering team management.

·       BS required – Engineering (Preferred mechanical or electrical)

• Engineering license required
• Construction and Design-Build experience preferred
• Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook)
• Proven ability to lead teams and solve problems creatively
• Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
• Excellent analytical skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
• Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline.
