We are seeking an IT Technician / Desktop Support Analyst to join our team!
Charleston WV IT services firm seeks individual for general technical support, network maintenance, and customer advisory services. Experience and a valid drivers license required. Must be able to pass drug and background check. IT certifications preferred. Cabling and/or VoIP experience a plus.
Responsibilities:
Install / configure operating systems, network equipment, software applications, and computer hardware.
- Provide basic orientation and guidance to users on the operation of new software applications and computer equipment.
- Provide technical support directly to users via on-site visits, phone calls, remote control software, and/or ticketing/chat platforms as needed.
- Create user accounts and manage access control based upon client policies.
- Monitor system operations to proactively detect and resolve problems.
- Ensure security and data privacy of networks and computer systems.
- Identify client computing needs and make recommendations to standardize and maximize efficient use of computing resources.
- Work with vendors and technology partners to verify timely product delivery and ensure that new equipment is installed and ready to operate on schedule.
- Determine, schedule, and perform system upgrades and maintenance.
- Maintain documentation of customer configurations, inventories, licensing, upgrades, and maintenance.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance operational policy and procedure standards.
Qualifications – the ideal candidate will have:
- Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
- Extensive experience in an IT Technician or related position.
- In-depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networking in a business environment.
- Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
- Solid understanding of security and data privacy principles.
- Excellent communication ability.
- Outstanding time management, organizational, multitasking, and prioritization skills with an ability to meet deadlines.
- A customer-service oriented work ethic consisting of attention to detail, confidentiality, dependability, and personal responsibility.
