    Business Development Associate (Broker Market)

    The Business Development Associate will work to analyze our target audiences to identify key executives and producers to build relationships with. Outbound communications focused on calling, emails, and some social media to set meetings with qualified prospects within the group benefits and healthcare industry (executives, brokers, agents, advisors). Research target companies via the internet and different types of paid research platform tools to identify the right prospect companies and the right people/decision-makers inside of these target companies, and update the internal CRM system.

    Responsibilities & Expectations:

    • Secure initial meetings with prospects daily and ensure they are attended by the assigned sellers
    • Update CRM while researching and talking with prospects to ensure accuracy and effectiveness of CRM
    • Help manage follow-up and relationship-building with this target audience
    • Work hand-in-hand with our senior management and sales people to build the channel business development system and processes to win deals
    • Review target audience companies, their executive staff and key their producers to access compatibility with TALON
    • Set meetings with qualified decision-makers within the group health benefits space; brokers, agents, consultants, advisors, executives with pertinent scope, and similar titled individuals
    • Conduct persistent outreach through various communication channels to obtain initial outreach calls with a sales executive, following our proven system
    • Achieve daily metrics, including phone calls and setting meetings
    • Contact past prospects to re-engage relationships
    • Qualify prospects for an appointment based on availability and interest level
    • Set a minimum of 8 qualified meetings with the right prospects each week. The goal for stellar performance is to average 12 to 15 set meetings weekly
    • Maintain an average minimum of 5 of the set meetings attended weekly. The monthly expectation is a minimum of 20 attended meetings with qualified decision-makers

    Qualification & Skills

    • High School Diploma/GED required; Associate/Bachelor’s Degree preferred
    • Highly articulate and persuasive personality
    • Exceptional and engaging communication skills
    • Ability to work independently with little guidance and collaborate closely with peers, cross-functional teams and leadership
    • A proven history of overachieving targets and KPIs
    • Eagerness to learn about group benefits and the healthcare industry
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, G-Suite & all other systems
