Diabetes Educator educates patients on the necessary lifestyle changes involved in a diabetes diagnosis, including nutrition, medication, physical activity and glucose testing. Collects patient data to monitor health status and proactively manage the patient's condition. Being a Diabetes Educator facilitates skill development and behavior modification so that the patient is able to successfully manage the disease. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing or equivalent. Additionally, Diabetes Educator typically required to be a Certified Care and Education Specialist (CDCES). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Diabetes Educator occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. PediaTrust, LLC is currently seeking an Activities Coordinator in our Columbus Clinic.
PediaTrust provides excellent skilled nursing services to medically fragile children that cannot attend a regular daycare or school setting. Each child has the opportunity to interact with other children while receiving the highest level of nursing care. Our facility offers physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and an individualized education plan. Our Activities coordinator is involved, not only in the educational component of the day, but is also responsible for creating an activity calendar and directing all of the daily activities and crafts for our entire patient population.
