Diagnostic Imaging Supervisor jobs in Madison, AL

Diagnostic Imaging Supervisor supervises and coordinates the activities of staff in a diagnostic imaging department such as nuclear medicine, MRI, radiology, computer-assisted tomography or ultrasound. Monitors the adherence to all diagnostic imaging policies, procedures, and services. Being a Diagnostic Imaging Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree, certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Diagnostic Imaging Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes.     Requirements

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Phlebotomy and IV access skills a plus.
    • New graduate Radiologic Technologist encouraged to apply.

    EDUCATION:

    Must have a minimum Associates Degree in Radiography or be a graduate of an accredited two-year radiology program.


    LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    Must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography and maintain current valid registration from ARRT. BLS certification required within 60 days of hire.


    SKILLS/ABILITIES:

    • Skill in operation of radiographic equipment as well as applicable ancillary equipment.
    • Ability to work independently and multitask.
    • Ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely.
    • Demonstrates understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology.
    • Knowledge of computer applications, including information and billing systems, keyboard input, digital archiving, and retrieving of data.
    • Ability to work efficiently as an extension of certified/registered staff or licensed independent practitioner.
    • Ability to multitask.
    • Ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely.
    • Demonstrates understanding of human anatomy and medical terminology.
    • Knowledge of computer applications, including information and billing systems, keyboard input, digital archiving, and retrieving of data.
