Dietitian, Sr. reviews physicians diagnosis and designs and implements therapeutic nutritional care plans for patients utilizing general dietetic standards and regulations. Monitors and documents patient progress and consults with physicians as needed. Being a Dietitian, Sr. educates and provides guidance to staff, patients, and families regarding diet and food plans. Administers and advises food service operations to ensure menus comply with prescribed nutritional plans. Additionally, Dietitian, Sr. may supervise less experienced dieticians. Requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Dietitian, Sr. work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. We are seeking an RD with experience in a busy hospital setting, and one who possesses a compassionate nature, amazing communication skills and a passion for specialized health and dietary needs.

    The Lead Clinical Dietitian has duties relating to clinical nutrition, quality management, training, computer support and food service. They will provide leadership, support and guidance to the clinical staff who provide Medical Nutrition Therapy.

    Metz Culinary Management is hiring a Lead Clinical Dietitian. 

     

    DUTIES:

    • Assesses Patients in accordance with hospital policy utilizing the Nutrition Care Process
    • Provides nutrition education to patients and/or caregivers based on assessment of individual learning needs.
    • Serves as the liaison between the clinical staff, nursing and food and nutrition managers/supervisors.
    • Conducts in-services on nutrition subjects relevant to patient care. 
    • Conducts huddles with Clinical Staff as needed for communication and direction.
    • Communicates with the Clinical Nutrition Manager regarding assignments, staffing needs, scheduling, completion of required competencies and maintenance of required credentials. 
    • Assures that Medical Nutrition Therapy is based on established guidelines through conducting chart audits. Provides feedback on employee performance to the Clinical Nutrition Manager
    • Designs strategies for changes to clinical practices guidelines, new regulatory requirements, and hospital initiatives. 
    • Develops, implements and updates internal policies and procedures. 
    • Responsible for ordering and inventory of nutrition supplements as needed.
    • Serves as nutrition representative at meetings and or committees as needed. 
    • Provides training for Clinical Nutrition Staff and dietetic interns regarding hospital policies and standards of best practice.
    • Collaborate with culinary and production teams regarding patient menus; makes appropriate recommendations for improving the nutritional content of menus. 
    • Support the use of the Diet Office Software Technology. 
    • Adheres to practice standards established by local, state and national agencies. 
    • Perform any other tasks as requested by the Clinical Nutrition Manager. 

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics, RDN(Registered for Minimally 3 Years preferred), CDN
    • 3-5 years of clinical experience in hospital setting(preferred)
    • CNSC(Preferred on hire or obtained within 1 year of hire)
    • Active membership with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics preferred
    • Exceptional interpersonal & leadership skills
    • Computer literacy and proficiency with EMR software and computer-based menu systems
