Digital Collection Librarian maintains a library's digital collection of books, serials, documents, audiovisuals, or other materials, and assists groups and individuals in locating, obtaining and using materials. Trains others in the creation or preservation of digital resources and the use of the library's digital system(s). Being a Digital Collection Librarian is responsible for the library's open source projects and procures licenses for digital content. Interacts with IT staff in selecting/developing, implementing and maintaining the library's technical infrastructure. Additionally, Digital Collection Librarian requires a master's degree in library science from an ALA-accredited school in a related field. Typically reports to a director. The Digital Collection Librarian manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Digital Collection Librarian typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Responsibilities:
- Contact customers to collect outstanding payments
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collection activities
- Resolve customer inquiries and disputes regarding billing and payment
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely resolution of customer issues
- Follow up on payment arrangements and negotiate payment plans when necessary
- Prepare and send collection letters or notices to delinquent customers
- Update customer accounts with payment information and notes on collection efforts
- Provide excellent customer service while maintaining professionalism and empathy
Requirements:
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult conversations
- Knowledge of accounts payable processes and procedures
- Proficiency in using accounting software for account management and analysis
- Strong math skills for accurate calculations and account analysis
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
