Job Summary
The Director of Nursing is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and ensuring the highest standards of patient care within our assisted living facility. This position requires a strong understanding of nursing administration, resident rights, and regulatory compliance, including HIPAA. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, a comprehensive knowledge of physiology and anatomy, and the ability to manage medical records effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the nursing team to ensure quality care for all residents.
• Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures in accordance with state regulations.
• Ensure compliance with resident rights and advocate for their needs.
• Oversee medical records management to maintain accurate and confidential documentation.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care plans.
• Provide training and mentorship to nursing staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Manage shift schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels at all times.
• Conduct regular assessments of nursing practices and implement improvements as necessary.
• Stay updated on best practices in nursing administration and assisted living care.

Requirements

• Proven experience in nursing administration, preferably in an assisted living or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, resident rights, and HIPAA regulations.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
• Proficient in managing medical records and understanding relevant healthcare documentation standards.
• Ability to effectively manage shifts while ensuring quality patient care is maintained.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on collaboration.
• A valid nursing license is required; additional certifications in nursing administration are preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
