Director of Housekeeping jobs in Virginia

$15 - $18 hourly

• Monitor all the daily operations of the housekeeping department, including the cleanliness of all guest rooms and public areas daily
• Document areas cleaned by room attendants and report any issues such as room damage or maintenance requests to the front office
• Oversee the housekeeping department budget, take inventory, and ensure there is a stock of adequate cleaning supplies
• Ensure all cleaning equipment is in proper working condition and make arrangements for repairs as needed
• Hire and train housekeeping staff to perform cleaning duties and deliver customer satisfaction to our expectations

• Keep a record of areas cleaned by room attendants and make a note of any issues such as room damage or maintenance requests
• Order cleaning supplies as needed, control and maintain inventory to ensure everything is adequately stocked and manage the department budget
• Ensure all cleaning equipment is in proper working condition and make arrangements for repairs as needed
• Manage the daily tasks of the housekeeping department, including cleaning guest rooms and public areas
• Hire and train housekeeping staff to perform cleaning duties and deliver customer satisfaction to our expectations
• To manage all facets of the Housekeeping Department ensuring high levels of guest service and satisfaction, including guest rooms, laundry, public areas, department storage areas and work areas
• Enforce standard procedures for the acceptance, security, and return on guest lost and found items
• Compiles and reports accurate status of guest rooms to front office
• Flexibility to work various schedules as business demands including weekends and holidays

• The ideal applicant is an experienced leader who demonstrates great attention to detail and customer service skills
• This position requires a high school diploma or GED
• At least 2 years experience in hospitality or guest services
• At least 3 years of experience in a senior role in the housekeeping department
• Strong understanding of environmental services (EVS) including cleaning processes and how to use a variety of cleaning supplies and equipment
