Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated School Social Worker to join the Waukegan, IL School District for the 2024-2025 academic year. This rewarding position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students by providing crucial social-emotional support and advocacy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and screenings to identify students' social-emotional needs and develop intervention plans.
- Provide individual and group counseling to students to address a range of issues such as mental health, behavior, and family dynamics.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and community resources to develop and implement interventions that promote students' academic and social success.
- Advocate for students' rights and access to resources within the school and community.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to develop and review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of student assessments, progress, and interventions.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with School Social Worker endorsement.
- Experience working with children and adolescents in a school or related setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of professionals.
