Overview:
Healing Warriors Program envisions a suicide-free world where all veterans and their families thrive. Our mission is to improve the wellness of veterans and their families through non-narcotic care.
We seek a dynamic and driven Development Director to lead our fundraising and donor engagement efforts. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring the sustainability and growth of our mission to improve the well-being of those who have served. The Healing Warriors Program provides no-cost, non-narcotic therapy utilizing acupuncture, craniosacral therapy, and Healing Touch for Veterans, service members, and their families. These complementary alternative medicine therapies work in conjunction with the client’s medical care to promote whole-person wellness. In addition to the complimentary alternative medicine therapies that we provide in our clinics, our dedicated client care specialists work to identify any additional needs that our clients require and connect them with our network of community resources.
Key Responsibilities
Donor Management:
Build, nurture, and expand relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, and foundations.
Develop and implement strategies for donor cultivation, stewardship, and retention.
Maintain and optimize donor database for accurate tracking and reporting.
Event Sponsorship and Fundraising:
HWP holds 2-3 fundraising events annually, with many organizations holding fundraisers on our behalf
Support 3rd Party fundraising (restaurant nights, 3rd party event support)
Lead efforts to secure sponsorships for events, campaigns, and initiatives
Collaborate with the Marketing and Outreach Coordinator to promote HWP events
Collaborate with contract Event Coordinators for event planning
Securing sponsorships and promoting ticket sales for fundraising events
Drive innovative approaches to increase revenue from special events
Strategic Development Planning:
Collaborate with the Executive Director, Grant Manager, and Finance Director to create and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies
Set measurable goals to meet annual development objectives
Create and maintain a fundraising calendar
Work closely with the Marketing and Outreach Coordinator to align fundraising efforts with marketing strategies.
Provide regular updates and reports to the Executive Director and board members on development progress and goals.
Qualifications:
Commitment to the Mission, Vision, and Values of the Healing Warriors Program
Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, communications, or a related field
Minimum of 2 years of experience in fundraising, donor management, or nonprofit development is preferred
Proven track record of securing major gifts and sponsorships
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire donors.
Proficiency in donor management software (HWP uses Neon)
Proficiency in Microsoft applications (TEAMS, Outlook, Xcel, Word, etc.)
Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
