    JOB SUMMARY:
    Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the Director, Total Rewards and HRIS will function as a key member of the HR leadership team with responsibility for providing strategy, management, and process improvement of total rewards and HRIS. This position will work collaboratively with key stakeholders and leadership in ensuring programs are market competitive, cost effective, and assist in attracting, engaging, and retaining employees. This position will work with leadership to understand business objectives while identifying and implementing the total rewards philosophy that reflects our values and culture and meets the needs of employes and their families.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    Total Rewards:
    • Partner with consultants and brokers on obtaining market data, ensuring executive alignment, and financial approval to make data driven decisions
    • Support Chief People Officer in preparing Compensation Committee materials and ensuring governance on Executive, Equity, and Board compensation
    • Manage mid-year, annual and off-cycle compensation processes (base salary, bonus, equity) and partner with FP&A on modelling merit/promotion/adjustment pools and bonus accruals
    • Assist in establishing benchmark data for all positions in partnership with Talent Acquisition team
    • Partner with benefit broker to understand market trends and assess, design and refine Sangamo’s benefits strategy to ensure the company is well positioned competitively to attract and retain talent.
    • Manage annual US Benefits renewal by developing strategy, plan design, costs, coordination of Open Enrolment, communications, and employee education sessions
    • Member of 401(k) committee and primary plan administrator ensuring plan compliance, audits, and non-discrimination testing is performed
    HRIS:
    • HRIS SME including oversite of implementation, maintenance, integration, data integrity, process improvements, user training. Partner closely with IT and Managed Service Providers
    • SOX control owner for HR related tasks to payroll, data integrity, user access, and workflow. Ensure segregation of duties, SOX narrative updates, and liaison to internal and external auditors
    Management & Compliance:
    • Manage, coach, and develop Senior HR Business Analyst
    • Participate in developing CD&A for Proxy alongside various units of legal, finance, outside counsel, and consultants
    • Administer Worker’s Compensation claims alongside EH&S and participate in annual WC payroll audit. Sitting member of the Sangamo Safety team


    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
    • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree a plus. Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) preferred
    • 10 years’ experience in progressively responsible roles managing Total Rewards and HRIS
    • Demonstrated expertise in all facets of Total Rewards, including presenting to Executives and Compensation Committee
    • Previous experience selecting and implementing HRIS with strong understanding of compliance and leading system projects. Experience with Oracle HCM and ADP a plus
    • Extensive knowledge of human resource laws, federal, state and local regulations and best practices.
    • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate date. Advanced Excel skills required.

    • Must be action oriented, highly organized problem solver who enjoys challenges and working collaboratively

    Pay Range
    The anticipated salary range is for candidates who will work in our Brisbane or Point Richmond, CA offices. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include, but are not limited to, the type and length of experience with the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. This salary range may not apply to remote positions that work in other states.
