Job Summary of the Port Driver Dispatcher position
Integr8staff seeks a highly organized and experienced Port Driver Dispatcher to be responsible for coordinating and managing the nightly trucking and logistics operations of the transportation department.
Responsibilities of the Port Driver Dispatcher position
Coordinate and manage port driver operations during the night shift.
Monitor incoming and outgoing shipments.
Communicate with drivers and team members to ensure smooth logistics.
Create necessary reflection reports to turnover for the following shift.
Handle any issues or emergencies that arise during the shift.
Track, trace and report container activity.
Records and audits all documents for equipment tracking.
Assists Customer Service and other office personnel in handling day to day duties required by management.
Process and complete all documentation assigned in a timely manner.
Communicate company policies and procedures to company drivers, monitor performance against standards, and recommend corrective action to management.
Update relevant systems to track appointments and drayage
Requirements of the Port Driver Dispatcher position
Have a strong understanding of intermodal drayage (Port / Terminals)
Prior experience in port, rail, or trucking operations required.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of Long Beach ports and E-modal appointments is strongly preferred.
Bilingual English and Spanish is strongly preferred
Self-started attitude and able to work independently
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Analytical and organized, ability to focus on details and compare data
Ability to perform with urgency and meet time-sensitive tasks
