DME Technician is responsible for a facility's durable medical equipment. Duties include selecting and ordering equipment and ensuring equipment delivery to facility and appropriate users. Being a DME Technician tests and maintains equipment to ensure proper functionality. Provides training on use of equipment. Additionally, DME Technician requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The DME Technician may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Responsibilities:
-Main duty Delivering Oxygen/supplies to customers
-Must have clean driving record
-On call 2 weeks per month nights and weekends
- must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Greet and check-in patients in a professional and friendly manner
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries or direct calls to the appropriate staff member
- Verify patient insurance information and collect co-pays or outstanding balances
- Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy of information
- Assist with medical billing and coding as needed
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Provide medical administrative support to healthcare providers
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar role preferred
- Proficiency in medical scheduling software such as Epic, Dentrix, or eClinicalWorks
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of phone systems and ability to handle high call volumes
