Drafting Supervisor supervises a team within an organization's computer-aided design (CAD) department. Plans, assigns, and reviews the work of drafters and other employees working on design projects. Being a Drafting Supervisor ensures deadlines, goals, and production standards for the department are met. Analyzes data and reviews drawings/plans to ensure quality of work and project feasibility. Additionally, Drafting Supervisor reviews project results and makes recommendations for improvement. Provides CAD technical support and develops solutions. Uses knowledge of the field to keep the department's software, techniques, and tools up to date. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Drafting Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Drafting Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.     Drafting Professional Tasks and Responsibilities

    We are looking for a creative, innovative, and optimistic person to join our team!

    The ideal candidate will:

    • Train with our team to produce working drawings, project budgets, and other construction documents.
    • Learn, train, and grow their knowledge of our design software and implement new strategies.
    • Develop 3D renderings of homes for presentation to clients.
    • Work with the project managers, builders, and sub-contractors to explain design concepts and building details.

    Qualifications

    • A relevant degree in Architecture, CAD/BIM, Construction Management, or similar.
    • A minimum of 2 years actual CAD/BIM experience.
    • Competency in the use of SoftPlan/ Revit (or similar), Lumion, MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word.
    • Understanding and working knowledge of the design and construction industry.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deliver a high level of customer service.
    • Ability to work weekends on occasion.
    • Must be very organized, self-motivated, and able to meet assigned timelines.
