    Shifts Available:
    •    Monday-Friday 8:00a.m - 5p.m.
    *3-Month Minimum Contract Assignment with option to extend

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
    Performs moderate to complex patient services work. Shall provide as needed counseling services to mental health and or IDD residents.
    • Shall perform an evaluation of recommended treatment of each IDT referred resident and confirm services can be completed in office setting, based on the resident’s need.
    Counseling services can include but not limited to:
    • • Initial assessment
      • Individual counseling
      • Family counseling
      • Grief counseling
      • Anger management
      • Sexual appropriateness
       

    LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
    • Licensed Professional Counselor (by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors)
    • Current CPR certification
    • Valid Photo ID
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
    • Must be bilingual (English and Spanish)
    • Work with dually diagnosed patients, mental health, in a residential section, not outpatient clinic.
    • Abide with agency attendance and leave policy.
    • Must be able to appropriately interact with individuals with developmental disabilities and staff members.
    • Knowledge of nursing care standards, nursing procedures and techniques, and the principles and processes used in providing appropriate patient care.
    • Knowledge of emergency procedures and emergency equipment, i.e., CPR, and ability to assess and care for residents and/or staff members in emergency situations.
    • Skills in using reasoning to identify problems and in considering an appropriate resolution of situations.
    • Skill in the operation of computers and applicable computer software.
    • Skill in the care and treatment of patients.
    • Ability to prepare and maintain records and to use an electronic health record system once trained.
    • Ability to communicate effectively and to instruct others.
    • Must have strength and flexibility to safely perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
