The IT Specialist will be crucial in maintaining and improving our company's technological infrastructure. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, and strong communication abilities. The IT Specialist will work closely with various teams across the organization to ensure the smooth operation of IT systems, provide technical support to end-users, and implement IT projects as assigned.
How Will You Make an Impact?
Technical Support:
- Provide technical support to end-users on hardware, software, and network-related issues in person, email, and Slack.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to daily operations.
- Assist with installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware, software, and peripherals such as printers and audio-visual equipment.
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency in problem resolution - Take ownership of incidents/requests and provide a smart resolution so end-user productivity is not impacted.
IT Infrastructure Management:
- Collaborate with the IT team to manage and maintain the company's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and security systems.
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and recommend necessary improvements or upgrades.
- Ensure all systems and applications are up to date with the latest patches and security updates.
Project Coordination:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, execute, and monitor IT projects from initiation to completion.
- Define project requirements, objectives, and timelines in consultation with stakeholders.
- Coordinate resources, assign tasks, and track project progress, ensuring adherence to budget and deadlines.
- Prepare regular project status reports and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
Vendor Management:
- Liaise with external vendors and service providers to procure IT equipment, software licenses, and services as needed.
- Conduct regular assessments of vendor performance and recommend changes or alternative solutions if necessary.
IT Policies and Documentation:
- Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, and documentation, ensuring they align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Educate employees on IT policies, security awareness, and best practices to promote a secure and efficient computing environment.
- Create and update technical documentation, including user manuals, troubleshooting guides, and system diagrams.
What Do You Bring to Us?
- 5 years of professional experience building, deploying, and troubleshooting computer systems, hardware, software, and printers within an enterprise environment.
- College degree or equivalent certification.
- Proficiency in operating systems (Windows and macOS), including Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Office 365, and Active Directory.
- Working knowledge of Slack, Zoom, Google Workspace, AWS, and VPN.
- The ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with technical and non-technical users.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
The salary range for this role is up to $75,000 per year. Pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
