SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC)

    • You will lead and manage Information Security (INFOSEC) and Information Assurance (IA)/Certification and Accreditation efforts for program's portfolio of information systems.
    • You will identify Implications of new technologies or technology upgrades on assigned IT security programs and participate in information security (IS) risk assessment during the C and A process.
    • You will evaluate the presence and adequacy of security measures proposed or provided in response to requirements contained in acquisition documentation.
    • You will provide guidance for system oversight, conduct reviews and fully integrate IA and INFOSEC into systems engineering and program reviews.
    • You will carry-out the full range of supervisory management functions.

    • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
    • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 722 Advanced Level within 12 months of appointment.
    • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
    • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
    • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
    • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
    • Generally, current Federal employees applying to APS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. All qualifications and pay band requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement and documented in your resume.

    Qualifications

    Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Leading and managing Information Security efforts for a program's information system; identify and assess the risks to information systems from attack; recommend protections to mitigate risks; and/or perform security system accreditation.
