EAP Counselor coordinates and implements an organization's Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Serves as a knowledgeable resource for employees seeking information and guidance on mental health and wellness topics. Being an EAP Counselor conducts confidential assessments to determine the needs of employees seeking assistance. Provides short-term counseling and support services to employees and provides referrals to external resources when necessary. Additionally, EAP Counselor maintains accurate and confidential records of EAP services provided, ensuring compliance with privacy laws and regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The EAP Counselor occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. The purpose and mission of Animal Care Services is advocating animal welfare, adoption, and rescue. The agency does this by protecting and promoting the health, safety, and welfare of pets and livestock in Marion County. The agency is able to do this by cultivating a productive, collaborative, and compliant work environment in order for our workforce to meet the needs of the constituents of Indianapolis and Marion County.
Position is responsible for overseeing and executing all aspects of the adoption program. In addition, will work with the transfer of animals to rescue groups and other shelters. Will also coordinate the spay/neuter appointments of adoptive animals, foster care program, offsite adoptions and special events.
Equal Employment OpportunityHigh school graduate or Equivalent required. Two (2) years of working with public or volunteer experience preferred. Prior experience working with animals a plus, but not required, but must be able to be comfortable around animals. Must be able to communicate with culturally diverse staff and display professional and courteous manner at all times. Ability to lift and move objects and animals up to 50 pounds for short distances, may have to humanly restrain animals when necessary.
