Broadcast Management Group (BMG) is a leading global broadcast production company focused on providing managed services to major broadcast networks, corporations, and studios. It is also a top producer of live multicamera news, sports, entertainment, and corporate broadcast productions. BMG has operations in New York, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Chicago, and Las Vegas.

BMG is looking for an Editor to join its team in Chicago! This role is at a client site, is ideal for a live broadcast-obsessed creator, and comes with the opportunity to work on live financial content. The ideal candidate must have an affinity for live production, a love of all things trending news and a deep understanding of content creation for digital and social platforms. This position will work with clients to understand their needs and objectives for each project, then take the lead in producing the project, including audio and video editing and graphic design and creation. This hands-on role includes assisting the production team with live production as needed while most of the work will be editing.

Essential Duties:

• Report onsite to the Supervising Producer
• Edit/produce video and audio pieces using Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Audition and Photoshop
• Produce high-quality video with a mix of text, graphics, photos, animations, emojis, and everything in between
• Gather elements like photos, videos, and music
• Layout and edit vertical stories for animations, long-form editorial, and video content for Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and Instagram Reels
• Work with the Producers to prioritize edits and stay on schedule
• Optimize video content for social platforms
• Work with the social team to develop and execute ideas to drive up views, watch-time, and engagement
• Work with podcast team to create engaging audio-specific social media posts
• Assist podcast team with creating teaser audio clips to be used in full podcast episodes
• Research, conceptualize, pitch, and create original social video content
• Create high-end sizzles
• Assist in other control room duties (A1 audio, teleprompter, assisting in-studio guests, etc.) when available
• Create cue sheets and work with the legal team on rights and clearances
• Organize media assets and play a role in building video library
• Conduct quality control on internally produced video content
• Ensure efforts consider localization for our markets and understand how to create templates as well as localize content directly

Requirements:

• Candidate must have at least 3-4 years of experience in digital content development and editing.
• Experience creating short-form, impactful social videos for a major brand.
• A deep understanding of creating videos for digital platforms and storytelling for social platforms, including YouTube, Instagram Reels, Instagram Stories, Facebook, X (Twitter) and others.
• Ability to bring all types of video ideas to fruition.
• Must have demonstrated experience with vertical video production.
• Experience in live streaming and event production
• The ability to take on assignments/projects and follow through until completion is critical.
• Can work as a collaborative team player.
