EDP Auditor evaluates data processing systems and operating procedures in accordance with established corporate standards for efficiency, accuracy, and security. Determines and recommends improvements in current standards and the implementation of system changes. Being an EDP Auditor provides management with results of audits on applications, systems and programs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, EDP Auditor typically reports to a manager. The EDP Auditor gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Responsibilities:
• Plan and schedule engagement fieldwork with clients.
• Perform audit, review, and compilation testing procedures in accordance with firm and professional standards.
• Establish, review, and monitor engagement time budgets.
• Prepare and review financial statements and footnotes, management reports and deliverables.
• Provide training, direction, and supervision to interns and staff accountants in a team environment.
• Some overnight travel is required.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Licensed CPA or in pursuit
• 3 years of experience in public accounting
• Non-profit and governmental audit experience preferred, not required
