JOB TITLE Education Coordinator

Reports to: Assistant Director of Education

Hours: Regular, Full-Time

Status: Non-Exempt

Location: Hybrid, within same-day driving distance to Foodbank ShareHouse (82 Coromar Drive, Goleta, CA 93117)

Salary Range: $21.63 - $26.44/hour, commensurate with experience

About the Position:

The Education Coordinator at the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County (FBSBC) supports in the production of engaging and thoughtful nutrition education content and coordinates regular evaluation of program performance. This role supports the Assistant Director of Education in understanding community needs, incorporating Foodbank Equity, Diversity and Inclusion values into all programs, providing training and support to nutrition educators and using creativity to make learning fun. The Education Coordinator works closely with all members of the Community Impact Department to ensure the highest quality content and delivery of Foodbank education.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Working with the Digital Engagement Specialist, coordinate Spanish social media content in alignment with Foodbank’s nutrition messages, community needs/interests and centering Foodbank EDI values.
• Collect and organize neighbor stories, testimonials, program engagement footage and photo or video of special events in neighbor’s preferred language.
• Coordinate data collection for annual evaluation of programs and educational content.
• Research and generate/support culturally inclusive recipes, education content and engaging activities for on-going improvements to Foodbank programs.
• Support the promotion, coordination, production and reporting for Comida como medicina in-person and broadcast events (Facebook live, YouTube, etc.) and Food as Medicine events as needed.
• Assist with preparatory training, communication or other support for nutrition educators, partners, promotores or other populations responsible for communicating Foodbank education to the community.
• Other duties as assigned.

Successful Candidates will have:

• Bachelor’s Degree (Public Health, Education, or Nutritional Science preferred) or equivalent years of related work experience
• Experience in community education
• Nutrition and cooking background/experience

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking Spanish required
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with staff, management and executives
• Ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of a team
• Proven ability to build effective working relationships and strong interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated commitment to supporting low-income and underserved populations
• Passion for working with youth
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Professional Suite
• Proficient in Canva
• Valid CA Driver’s License
• Access to reliable transportation for occasional work-related travel
