Job Summary
The EH&S Specialist provides support to the EH&S department and assists in carrying out the health, safety, security, and environmental compliance initiatives at the facility. This position will interact with the management team, employees, and contractors/ vendors to support the EH&S department in a manufacturing plant environment.
SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES -

The position will help carry out responsibilities for all EH&S programs, including, but not limited to, the following:
- Conduct regular and thorough inspections of the premises to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Develop and implement corrective measures based on inspection findings to mitigate risks and improve safety standards.
- Manage and maintain existing health and safety programs, including but not limited to emergency response procedures, training programs for employees on safety protocols, occupational health initiatives, safety equipment inventory, and maintenance.
- Respond promptly and effectively to incidents, accidents, or near-misses within the workplace.
- Maintain accurate incident records and prepare detailed reports for management review.
- Assist with environmental programs (e.g., stormwater pollution prevention plan, etc.) and collecting water samples.
- Manage hazardous waste accumulation, labeling, and disposal.
- Responsible for the review and maintenance of SDS records.
- Help develop visual aids and presentations for EH&S training, committee meetings, and leadership committee meetings.
- Participate in the ISO 14001 and 45001 audits and assist with the corrective action plan as needed.
- Develop and conduct training sessions or workshops to educate employees on best practices, potential hazards, and specific regulatory requirements.
- Able to support a second shift as needed.
- Performs other EH&S duties as assigned.
Education
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS – Education, Knowledge, and Experience
- A bachelor's degree is required. A bachelor's degree in safety science, environmental health and safety, or industrial hygiene is preferred.
- OSHA or similar EHS certification is preferred or a plus.
Experience
- A minimum of four years’ experience in EHS job-related functions. The ideal candidate will have two or more years of experience in the manufacturing industry.
Skills
- Detailed knowledge of relevant regulations such as OSHA, EPA, and ANSI.
- The ability to read and interpret regulations and safety data sheets.
- Willingness to travel to other Adient locations in California.

Salary Range Transparency: $67,000 - $75,000 annually, depending on candidate qualifications
