    Position Summary: We are currently seeking a seasoned and dynamic Operations Manager to join our esteemed operations team based in Richmond, VA. Reporting directly to the Southern VA Region Manager, the Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing corporate inventory management, warehouse management, logistics and wire cutting operations. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in supply chain management, procurement, and operations, coupled with a proven track record of adeptly managing intricate inventory systems and production processes.

    Pay: Negotiable based on experience

    Responsibilities:

    Corporate Inventory, Warehouse, and Logistics Management:

    • Drive a culture of safety, respect and accountability.
    • Develop and execute inventory control strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize inventory levels, ensuring product availability while minimizing costs.
    • Supervise the maintenance of precise inventory records, encompassing tracking stock levels, conducting routine cycle counts, and facilitating reconciliations.
    • Supervise warehouse personnel and drivers, assuring excellent service levels for our customers.
    • Coordinate the maintenance of Fleet Vehicles and driver records and certifications.
    • Collaborate closely with the purchasing team to establish and nurture effective relationships with suppliers, negotiate pricing and contracts, and uphold supplier performance standards.
    • Analyze inventory data, discern trends, and derive actionable insights to enhance inventory management processes and propel operational efficiencies.
    • Train and mentor employees to build bench strength candidates for promotion within the company.

    Wire Cutting Operations:

    • Provide strategic guidance and leadership for wire cutting operations, ensuring seamless and efficient production processes.
    • Design and implement standardized procedures for wire cutting operations, prioritizing quality control, productivity, and safety.
    • Optimize resource allocation, encompassing labor, equipment, and materials, to meet production objectives and maximize efficiency.
    • Monitor and evaluate production performance metrics, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing corrective measures as required.
    • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, championing lean manufacturing principles and fostering operational excellence across the operation.

    Team Management and Collaboration:

    • Lead a team of inventory control specialists, warehouse and driving professionals, and wire cutting operators, providing mentorship, coaching, and performance feedback.
    • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, production planning, quality assurance, and sales, to ensure seamless coordination and execution of operations.
    • Cultivate a collaborative and inclusive work environment, encouraging teamwork, open communication, and knowledge sharing among team members.

    Compliance and Risk Management:

    • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices in inventory management and wire cutting operations.
    • Identify and mitigate operational risks by implementing effective control measures and contingency plans.
    • Remain abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and emerging practices in inventory management and wire cutting operations, proactively incorporating pertinent strategies into the company's operations.

    Qualifications


    Qualifications and Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in business, operations management, supply chain management, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
    • Proven track record in operations management, inventory control, and purchasing, preferably within a manufacturing or distribution setting.
    • Profound knowledge of inventory management principles, techniques, and software systems.
    • Demonstrated expertise in optimizing production processes and driving operational efficiencies.
    • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a knack for motivating and developing a diverse team.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving acumen, with a penchant for data-driven decision-making.
    • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, with a knack for collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and experience in implementing continuous improvement initiatives is advantageous.
    • Proficiency in utilizing inventory management software and other relevant tools.
    • Experience utilizing Epicor Solar Eclipse ERP software.
