A rapidly expanding local Transportation Company is seeking a highly motivated individual to join us as an Operations Supervisor. This position entails a flexible schedule of 5 days per week, including weekends. As the Operations Supervisor, you will supervise and coordinate all activities of the dispatch department, support the dispatch team with their duties, ensure on-time pick-up and delivery performance using dispatch software, and handle personnel and billing administrative duties. This position reports to the Operations Manager.

This position manages Logistics Coordinators.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage on demand and routed dispatch screens.
• Coordinate dispatch training for new hires.
• Quality control; spot check at least 5 orders from each logistics coordinator on a weekly basis.
• Review all route manifests.
• Confirm all emails are responded within 30 minutes.
• Confirm all afterhours email and phone orders have been billed.
• Review dispatch software each morning and investigate and resolve any late orders.
• Manage employee of the month recognition program.
• Manage employee time records.
• Manage logistics coordinators shift checklist.
• Manage the office cleaning schedule.
• Manage weekly dispatch meeting.

Requirements:

• Be able to assimilate information quickly and accurately in order to make effective decisions.
• Computer literate and have knowledge of MS Office.
• Strong organizational skills, the ability to effectively prioritize tasks, and strong time management skills.
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative and be a self-starter
• Ability to plan and organize workload; flexibility to handle pressure and work with interruptions and meet deadlines; attention to details.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Willingness to learn and accept responsibility.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience & Qualifications:

• High school diploma or General Education Development Certificate (GED);
• Minimum of two years of experience dispatching.
