Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Climate Analytics and Policy Advisor to join our team.
Responsible for the strategy, coordination, and execution of all aspects of Climate Adaptation policy and data analytics, ensuring Regulatory compliance, in close coordination with key stakeholders and business units across SDG&E. Develop data requirements, facilitate climate adaptation planning, track project deliverables, provide external presentations and panel briefings. The primary area of focus is climate change adaptation planning, policy and analytics advancement, which includes wildfire mitigation program support, cross departmental coordination, community collaboration, and climate change impact analysis including integration of climate science, development and interpretation of climate vulnerability assessment models. The Climate Adaptation Advisor will serve as resident subject matter expert on the application of climate science across all areas of our business.
Duties:
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, public health, statistics, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Strong knowledge of climate change science, policies, and international agreements
- Proficiency in statistical software such as Stata, R, SPSS, SAS, Python, or similar tools for data analysis
- Experience with data collection methods and techniques
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate research findings
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
