Summary (What/Why/Coverage)-Main Activities:
Under Instructions of Controls team, the Controls Engineer Intern is responsible to shadow controls
Engineers, work on projects, develop simple programs for PLC`s and HMI`s. Software development
focused on projects to reduce costs, improve safety, and increase performance of machines.
Key Responsibilities (What/How):
· Develop Simple programs for Siemens PLCs
· Develop HMIs work on upgrades
· Is able to check electrical panels using a meter
· Willing to learn Process of Extrusion and Slitter machinery
· Willing to learn PLC`s, HMI`s, servo systems, motors, drives, sensors, vision sensors and data collection and analysis software in depth
· Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands: This position requires frequently lifting and/or moving up to 25 – 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The position requires frequent lifting, walks and stands for long periods of time, and performs strenuous physical labor under extreme temperatures. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
